Our long time experience speaks for itself! We are one of the originals; faithfully serving the on-line canine community for 14 years. We’ve competed in the schutzhund dog sport, agility, and national competition for over 20 years as well as a former Police K-9 Handler!

In The Beginning:

My interest in the German Shepherd Dog began in 1975 while training my first Police Service K-9, "Blackjack" from puppy to certification and ending my handling career with 'Bocephus' in 1993. After many years of training, handling and certifying police service and detector dogs, my interest in the sport of Schutzhund grew from a part time hobby into a full time passion and our commitment and passion for the sport continues today. Most recently, my wife has confessed her new love and obsession to me….dog agility!! So, as you most likely have noted, we are true “dog people”!

Nic's Story and the Birth of K9Power®

In 1995 my competition dog Nic de Zennevallei, suffered a debilitating shoulder injury requiring surgical repair of his bicep tendon. I happened to read an article written by Bob Fritz (Owner of Animal Naturals) on canine athlete nutrition. That article made such an impact on me, I decided to contact Bob for guidance regarding Nic's rehabilitation. Bob aggressively guided us in the right direction with nutrition and conditioning program that dramatically reduced inflammation due to surgery and even more importantly, preserved Nic's muscle mass while slowly building shoulder strength.

Nic's overall health and condition progressed to a level that I never believed would have been possible and far exceeded his condition prior to the injury. The following fall we were back on the field and placed 1st in the New England Regional Schutzhund III Championship (291V) with a High in Trial, High in Obedience and High in Tracking. Also, that year we ranked 6th overall in the U.S. and were chosen to represent United Schutzhund Clubs of America in the American Working Dog Federation Championships. In 1999, we received the USA Gold Sports Medal.

In 1995, Bob Fritz recruited me as one of his distributors and K9power.com was born. At that time, very few people were familiar with canine nutritional products for working dogs. That small business has evolved from selling canine nutritional products to our friends, family and dog club members, into a fast growing, highly reputable, one-stop-shop for your convenience.

Our 6500 sq ft facility houses our Canine Health & Nutrition Center with a lovely country charm where you can find the best of the best in canine dry and raw diets, nutritional supplements, treats, toys and accessories. We have a section dedicated to 'Active Dogs' where you can find hiking, biking and active lifestyle supplies as well as nutritional supplements and even a 'Kitty Korner'. Stop in and talk dogs or sit in our reading corner, complete with fireplace, and browse through our many product brochures and dog magazines or just have a cup of coffee and relax! Enjoy our wide collection of vintage dog photos from the 1930’s-1960’s and reminisce about the Lassie & Rin Tin Tin shows.

Aside from our completely up-to-date offices is our large warehouse and shipping departments. We not only service our internet customers and store shoppers; we also serve as an Animal Naturals direct drop ship center and wholesale outlet supplying businesses across the United States.
